Alappuzha BackwatersDay 1: Arrive at Ernakulam (Cochin). Our chauffer will drive you towards Alleppey and check you in to the Heritage homestay facing backwater near Alleppey. Country-boat ride in canals and fishing lessons. Overnight stay there.

Day 2: After breakfast check in to heritage houseboat and cruise down the backwaters of Alleppey and Kumarakom.Overnight stay aboard the houseboat.

Day 3: After breakfast proceed towards Munnar and check in to Ela Ecoland, an eco-resort at Kallar near Munnar that actively promotes ecotourism in Kerala. After lunch, go for a jeep safari and later enjoy a bonfire dinner.

chinnarDay 4: After breakfast go for cycling around Ela Ecoland and enjoy an elephant ride.  After early lunch at Ela,  proceed towards Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. Trek three kilometers into the forest and check in to a real treehouse in the wild. Overnight stay there to sight animals.

Day 5: After early breakfast proceed for wild life sighting and trekking with professional guides.

elephant-rideLater in the evening proceed back to Ela Ecoland, over night stay there.

Day 6: After breakfast proceed towards Thattekad (also spelt Thattekkad),  and check in to Hornbill Camp, overnight stay at one of their deluxe tent cottage.

Day 7: After breakfast proceed for birding (birdwatching) and river rafting or kayaking. overnight stay at Hornbill camp.

Elephant Bathing at Kodanad AaanakkalariDay 8: After breakfast proceed towards Kodanad lies on the southern bank of Periyar to the east of Perumbavoor town – 40 minutes drive away from Hornbill Camp – one of the  largest elephant-capturing centre of South India. The  elephant kraal or aaanakkalari and training centre with its rescued elephants is a big draw for those interested in close encounters of the elephant kind. The session’s highlight is undoubtedly the routine bathing of baby elephants by their handlers (mahouts) in the River Periyar. Later proceed towards Fort Cochin and check in to a Heritage Homestay  called Bernard's Bangalow. Overnight stay there.

st-francis-churchDay 9: After breakfast, go for sightseeing around Fort Cochin and shopping and boat cruise. Overnight stay at Bernard's.

Day 10: After breakfast proceed towards Kochi/Ernakulam and get dropped there. Tour Ends.
